Egypt is the highest volume Arabic speaking e commerce market and the one where unit economics are least forgiving. Both facts point in the same direction.
Why does cost per ad matter more here?
Because average order values are lower, so every cost in the chain has less room. An ad that costs 800 SAR to produce can be absorbed by a Gulf store selling a 600 SAR product. The same ad against a much lower basket cannot be.
This is the market where per month pricing separates most sharply from per ad pricing. At 100 SAR per video on the largest plan against 800 or more per ad from a freelancer, video becomes something you run continuously across a catalogue rather than commission once for a hero product. On thin margins that difference decides whether you use video at all.
Which platforms actually matter?
TikTok and Facebook. Facebook retains substantially more commercial weight in Egypt than anywhere in the Gulf, particularly for audiences over thirty and for categories bought by households rather than individuals. TikTok dominates younger segments and delivers the cheapest reach.
Instagram sits behind both for most product categories here, which is the reverse of the Gulf ordering.
What about the dialect?
Egyptian dialect noticeably outperforms Modern Standard Arabic for consumer products aimed at a purely Egyptian audience. It reads as a person rather than an announcement, and Egyptian audiences are unusually sensitive to copy that sounds imported.
If the same campaign also needs to run into the Gulf, use Modern Standard Arabic for that version rather than trying to make one dialect stretch across both. A Gulf audience hearing Egyptian dialect and an Egyptian audience hearing Gulf dialect both register the mismatch.
What should the creative emphasise?
Price and delivery, in that order. This is a more price sensitive market than the Gulf, so the offer card format carries more weight here and the premium positioning formats carry less. Put the number on screen early rather than saving it for the closing frame.
What does it cost?
Plans are 375 SAR a month for 15 ten-second videos and 999 SAR for 50, and a single video is 50 SAR. There is no free tier, and the sample ads page is there so the output quality is visible before you subscribe.

What store owners ask.
Is video advertising viable at Egyptian price points?
Yes, but the arithmetic is tighter. With lower average order values, cost per ad matters more than it does in the Gulf, so the entry plan will not suit every Egyptian store. Where it does work is on catalogues, because 50 videos for 999 SAR is under 20 SAR per ad against 800 or more from a freelancer, and one ad reused across a product line carries a great deal further than one shoot.
Which platform works best in Egypt?
TikTok and Facebook, in that order for younger audiences and reversed for older ones. Facebook retains far more commercial weight in Egypt than in the Gulf, and Instagram sits behind both for most product categories.
Should the Arabic be Egyptian dialect?
For a purely Egyptian audience, yes, and it noticeably outperforms Modern Standard Arabic for consumer products. If the same ad also needs to run in the Gulf, use Modern Standard Arabic rather than trying to make one dialect serve both.
